Ray is master of the melodeon and his playing provides the dancing english folk melodies for the band.

When he is playing on his own it is difficult to keep your feet still and with the band backing him the music goes straight to the ceilidh dancing feet.

Ray is leader of the Bull and Pump Morris Men.

He also plays anglo concertina and guitar and will often break into song with little encouragement.
