MORE CHALLENGES !

Well I had to admit defeat on the recent South Shropshire Circular Challenge. Last two years I had no problem but this year the route resembled a slurry pit that seemed to continue endlessly and my boots gave very little grip. So after 13 miles of slipping and sliding I retired from the challenge. The other two footloosers, including our keyboard player Barbara, completed the 26 miles in nine and a half hours.

Next excursion will be a visit to the Lakes for some high level walking and then Ray has entered the Care to Ride cycling event on Cannock Chase with daughter Joe.

The Teesdale Way was completed in style by the foolossers 3 over 80 miles in 3 days with stunning views on the final day past High Force and Cauldron Snout. Finishing at Appleby the weather was glorious throughout and apart from picking up blisters on teh first day Ray and Barbara enjoyed every minute.

SOUTH SHROPSHIRE CIRCULAR 2009 COMPLETED BY THE FOOTLOOSE 4!

The original 3 footloosers Ray, Barbara and Tom were joined for this challenge by Mike. The 28 mile route with over 4,000 feet of cumulative climb was completed by the footloosers in eight hours forty five minutes.

Ray and Barbara (plus friend Tom) together form a long distance walking team 'FOOTLOOSE'(Now joined by Mike to make it the Footloose 4).

September 2008 challenge

Route turned out to be following Wild Edric's Way and involved 30 miles on the Saturday from Church Stretton to Clun and 21 miles on Sunday from Clun to Ludlow. Beautiful scenery, lovely weather and not too stiff at the end.

WHY? ...... because we still CAN!
